The Indians visit Pittsburgh for a 3-game interleague series against the Pirates this weekend. In the 24 previous games Pittsburgh has the upper hand winning 13 including 7 of 9 here at PNC Park.
This weekend however features both teams buried in last place of their respective divisions. The Indians have lost 4 straight and are now 15 games below .500. Pittsburgh on the other hand has lost 11 straight and are 20 games beneath the break even mark. Its the 2nd longest losing streak for the Bucs since 1955 and if the Indians pull off a sweep this weekend it will eclipse their 13-game slide in 2006.

The Pirates will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their 1960 World Series Championship team on Saturday. Bill Mazeroski, the only man to hit a walk-off homer in the 7th game of a World Series, will be one of several former Pirates on hand for the festivities.

If you have not made a trip to Pittsburgh for a baseball game its worth the trip. PNC Park is one of the top venues in baseball to watch a game. I suggest an upper deck seat behind home plate to take advantage of the views of the Allegheny River and the downtown skyline.

The Indians took a bus to Pittsburgh following Thursday night's game at home against New York. Bus trips are largely a part of baseball's past in the big leagues but, its a refreshing way to travel that stimulates more conversation and camaraderie.
